God's Own Equation

“Today I will explain everything. I will explain the existence of the tiniest particle and of the greatest bodies of the universe. I have unified all the fundamental forces and every physical phenomenon can now be explained.” And with this Professor Vyas raised his hands in air as if he was announcing his equivalence with the almighty.

This was the most awaited event for the entire scientific community. Professor Vyas claimed that his theory can explain every physical phenomenon-“Theory of Everything”. Today he was going to give a presentation on his theory to an audience packed with the most intellectual minds of the world.

This was not much of a surprise for those who knew Professor Vyas. He was a child prodigy. He had mastered nearly all the disciplines of mathematics and physics by the age of 23. And after dedicating 10 years exclusively to theoretical physics, he came up with the theory of everything.

Though people said that he was god gifted, he never believed in god. He was considered as an atheist and a stubborn man by his peers.

Professor Vyas continued, “My equation is stable and will give finite results. This equation is the result of my supreme intellect and now future can be defined.”

With this he began his presentation. Equations started to float around as many intellects kept wondering that how a man can single handedly come up with these mighty equations.

And in the end came the final equation. Everybody was spell bounded. It was perfect.

“Any questions”, asked Professor Vyas with that smile of ultimate satisfaction.

“Sir, can your theory stand up to experimental scrutiny?” asked a young man who was sitting in the last row.

Professor Vyas was shocked. “What?? There is no such device to test it. I have demonstrated that my equation is stable. Till now, no theory has reached up to this level. Your question is invalid.”

“But I do have a device sir.” The young man took out a device from his bag which resembled a laptop.

“Sir, I have made a simulator. You can enter the values for all the constants and variables in it and this simulator will simulate the entire process from the creation of the universe to the present.”

Professor Vyas laughed at this as he said, “So, you think your machine with some bits and bytes will simulate the universe!!! So, funny!!”

“Sir, but there is no harm in testing.”, said the young man.

“Ok, as you wish”

The device had a screen and a keyboard just like a laptop, but certainly it was not a laptop. It had various unknown things attached to it. Professor Vyas entered his equation and all other values in the simulator. Though there were some other fields which were left blank as Professor Vyas had nothing to enter into it.

It was a jaw opening view for the entire audience. The simulator was also perfect. One of its columns calculated all the values at enormous speed while the other one was giving a streaming pictorial view of the creation of the universe. The Equation of Professor Vyas seemed perfect. The creation of stars and galaxies was happening based on the equation defined by Professor Vyas.

“You see, my equation is perfect.”, said Professor Vyas.

“But, there is a problem sir. It seems that there is no life on earth.”

“What”, exclaimed Professor Vyas?

The young man was right. Earth had no life.

“See young man, my equation has nothing to do with life.”

“But sir, life began on earth in perfect conditions which were created by perfect integration and disintegration of atoms. So, your theory comes in the scenario. But, still we can notice nothing on earth!”, said the young man.

Professor Vyas was amazed. His equation missed to explain some phenomenon. Equally amazed was the audience at the power and the intellect of the man and his machine.

Everybody started asking questions to the young man. But he answered none of them. He peacefully went away at the end of the day. That man was never found again.

The world was amazed. Some said that he was god himself and it was his miracle that day. Professor Vyas’s equation became yet another issue for the scientific community.

But Professor Vyas had realized something. He didn’t knew whether that man was god or an extraordinary being with extraordinary intelligence. But what he realized that equations can never create life. No equation can parallel god’s own equation. His equation failed on a simulator. But the experimental scrutiny of god’s equation is what we see around us!

Life is god’s creation. God is the truth. And if god is unexplained, one would never find the ultimate truth. He created us and we created science. Science can take us to the penultimate, but the ultimate would ever be reserved for god.

Today Professor Vyas is no more an atheist. He still works to give better understanding of nature through science. Though he still wonders what that simulator was!!!

Autobiography

“My life has been special. People should know about it. I should write an autobiography.”

This is one thought which is shared by many of us. However, one has to be successful in his life to entertain the reader.

Autobiographies are not meant to be written by an ordinary man.

It is said that everybody is not here to create a difference. So, better be ensured to create a difference before writing an autobiography.

What difference? No bounds. Anything.

Walking nude on the street will give you the right to write an autobiography.

No, I am not frustrated.

I just had these thoughts when somebody asked me to write an autobiography.

I would really like to write an autobiography but I have not created that difference so that my life can be enjoyed along with a coffee at a bookstore.

The next day somebody else asked me to write an autobiography.

“Who will read it??” I asked

“Everybody yaar, everybody! You should write about your sufferings and then people will know about our evil system, our evil society…….”

“It’s not always evil. It happened with me” I said

To Kya Hua?.At least one thing would be exposed. What yaar? You have suffered so much. You should get something for that.”

Is this the difference? “Pain”

Somebody said, “Dard kaun batega yaar. Wo to bechne se bhi nahi bikata”

Not Really.

“Dard bhi bikata hai”

Singularity-Existence of God-Before I Continue...

“A four-dimensional real vector space equipped with a nondegenerate, symmetric bilinear form with signature.”
This is one of the “leave me alone” statements. If you will just say leave me alone to someone, then in all probability you would be forced to tell the reason that why you should be left alone. So, it’s better to say leave me alone in a different way!
However, a physicist would be glad to screw you for this “leave me alone” statement especially when you will say that these statements would finally prove the existence of god!
Billions of people believe that god exists. And many would really not like someone to prove it. I am one of them.
Then what am I doing in this blog???
I also believe that god exists but what I want to show here is that he is right here in front of our eyes. We just need to have a scientific view!
But then is it necessary to go through those complex “leave me alone” statements to see god?
Yes, it is. I don’t want to give any zany idea. It’s all scientific and hence very much believable.
I have been into cosmology and quantum physics for quite a time but I was never with a mission to prove the existence of god. But my further study into these two subjects made me realize that what physicists call as the “Theory of Everything” is nothing but the “Theory of God” (god exists in everything!)

We have understood most of the laws of nature through science and if god created the nature then why can’t science tell us anything about the creator? It can. Infact, it has!
But we can’t accept this as there is no equation in science which ends up with something like “= GOD”. Truly saying, it’s all upon our realization. By this I don’t want to say that all physicists should change their profession! Instead they should continue with their work so that we can see god and his miracles!!!
Don’t think that my thoughts are influenced by churches or temples. It’s awkward to say that gods have their territories bounded by borders. This is nothing but a stupid and the most idiotic thought of humans. By all this we are just saying that god is also an egoist.
Why will ever want to popularize his name??? But a discussion on this topic is useless.
Many will never understand this.
So, if science can make us realize us the eternal truth then so be it. I will continue with this series with my next post. Till then get some air with those breathing instruments.
And by the way, the “leave me alone” statement was the definition of Minkowski Space

Singularity-Existence of God-Part III

This time we would be going to the quantum world. However, this journey would not be easy because the air inside this world is saturated with numbers and equations. Those who are not comfortable with it will suffocate to death. Even those who love it would be having some breathing problems!
But, don’t worry. There are some who provide breathing instruments. Stephen Hawking is one of them. His book entitled Theory of Everything is pretty cool for those who normally will suffocate to death in this world. Though I must say that he not only provides those breathing instruments but is also among those who create that air!!!
So, the above statements might have cleared that I would not be teaching quantum physics here. What I want to show that scientists are only talking about god when they speak about theory of everything!
Ok, back to our discussion.
The standard model gave us the understanding of particle interaction by uniting three fundamental forces-strong, electromagnetic and weak. However, the gravitational force was still missing. So, we entered into quantum gravity. And this is what theory of everything is all about-unification of quantum mechanics with gravity.
Unfortunately, here the quantum world becomes equivalent to the problem world!
The unification of quantum mechanics with gravity leads us into renormalization problem where the particle interaction results into infinite values which are not so easy to be cancelled mathematically. WTF!!! This should be your reaction if you are new to this world. What the hell is renormalization???
For understanding renormalization, we need to have an understanding of Perturbation Theory. In Perturbation theory, we need to find an approximate solution to a problem which cannot be solved exactly. Perturbation theory is applicable if the problem can be formulated by adding a "small" term to the mathematical description of the exactly solvable problem. This will give us the desired solution in power series.

I have given a very simple example of the application of Perturbation theory. I will not go in details of that. I will give its significance in renormalization problem and how it was kicked out in quantum gravity.
Getting suffocated? Don’t panic. You have those breathing instruments. Get some air and come back to this world. Strings are not far away!!!

Singularity-Existence of God- Part II

Ok, back to our discussion.
Many of us believe that god does exist and there is no need to prove his existence. It’s all upon our faith. But, what if we all can see him everyday and that too without any doubts or objections by our scientific community. This might sound weird for many. But, believe me there is nothing weird in it. What all it requires is some understanding of science, an open mind and faith in god. Till now, it has all been in words, but soon it will be in equations. It’s necessary for me to include equations because without them our scientific community will get enough reasons to question our reasoning!
Let us begin with the universe. Einstein had a deterministic view regarding the universe as he believed that every phenomenon in the universe can be explained and there is nothing which is random or which can’t be explained. Moreover, Einstein also believed that the universe is static and that’s why he introduced the cosmological constant in his field equations.

Rμν - ½ Rμν + Λg μν = 8 ПTμν

Here, Λ represents the cosmological constant. However, an observation through Hubble telescope confirmed that the galaxies were infact receding and hence the universe was not static. It was no less than a shock for Einstein.

Thereafter, Λ was set to zero for all other applications. But, from the observations made in the past 10-15 years, the cosmological constant is not always taken as zero.
You might be thinking that why the hell I have started with such a terrorizing equation.
The reason is that the cosmological constant will play a vital role in our coming discussions and hence it needed a proper introduction here. I suggest leaving the equation for now. I will surely explain it and its solutions after we get into Minkowski space and Riemann’s geometry.
I understand it’s already getting complex but that’s how we have to go if we want to see god! (And in the end you will say “what man, you screwed our time! It was so simple!)
Ok, take a break for now but don’t forget the cosmological constant and from where it came. We will move to an altogether different world in our next discussion.

Singularity: Existence of God-Part I

One day I went to my relative’s house and saw that my 5 yr old cousin was trying to push a wall with all his strength. I asked him why he was doing so and he replied that he was no less than superman and that all physical things can be destroyed or molded just by his muscle power.
I tried to explain him that this is not possible but he never gave up during my half an hour stay there.
Unfortunately, some of our great minds are doing the same. The only difference is that they are not pushing a wall but they are trying to explain EVERTHING.
Before i continue, i would like to say that i have always been someone who looks for an explanation behind every phenomenon. That does not mean that i don't believe in god. For me, god is someone who is always with us and is ever ready to help us in our hard times (Human life is not a phenomenon!!).
However, now i feel that science has unknowingly proved the existence of god(weird?no, it's true!) and the very thought that we can explain everything is far from reality.
I will not give a philosophical explanation for the above statement but rather an explanation which would be scientific and obviously logical i.e i will show how science has proved the existence of god.
This is my first blog in this series. My next blog will continue this discussion until we will stop at the point when we will realize that god not only plays dice but also solitaire!!!

Comparing the Incomparable?!?-Part II

Origin, Organization, Depth and Magnitude:
There are no doubts about origin of LOTR. A hyper-imaginative work of J.R.R Tolkein.
But many of us don’t know much about Mahabharata. The text was originally 8,800 verses when it was composed by Vyasa and was known as the Jaya (Victory), which later became 24,000 verses in the Bharata recited by Vaisampayana, and finally over 90,000 verses in the Mahabharata recited by Ugrasravas.
Quite a difference! The book LOTR is organized into three chapters- Fellowship of the Ring, The Twin Towers and Return of the King. However, this is only about the third age which is the age of rise of hobbits. There is a description of two ages before the third age.
Mahabharata is mainly divided into 18 parvas:
Adi-parva :Introduction, birth and upbringing of the princes.
Sabha-parva :Life at the court, the game of dice, and the exile of the Pandavas. Maya Danava erects the palace and court (sabha), at Indraprastha.
Aranyaka-parva (also Vanaparva, Aranyaparva):The twelve years in exile in the forest.
Virata-parva :The year in exile spent at the court of Virata.
Udyoga-parva :Preparations for war.
Bhishma-parva :The first part of the great battle, with Bhishma as commander for the Kauravas.
Drona-parva :The battle continues, with Drona as commander.
Karna-parva :The battle again, with Karna as commander.
Shalya-parva :The last part of the battle, with Shalya as commander.
Sauptika-parva :How Ashvattama and the remaining Kauravas killed the Pandava army in their sleep
Stri-parva :Gandhari and the other women (stri) lament the dead.
Shanti-parva :The crowning of Yudhisthira, and his instructions from Bhishma
Anusasana-parva :The final instructions (anusasana) from Bhishma.
Ashvamedhika-parva :The royal ceremony of the ashvamedha conducted by Yudhisthira.
Ashramavasika-parva :Dhritarashtra, Gandhari and Kunti leave for an ashram, and eventual death in the forest.
Mausala-parva :The infighting between the Yadavas with maces (mausala).
Mahaprasthanika-parva :The first part of the path to death (mahaprasthana "great journey") of Yudhisthira and his brothers.
Svargarohana-parva :The Pandavas return to the spiritual world (svarga).
Harivamsa-parva :Life of Krishna.
Bhagwad Gita is separately covered in Anusasana parva
So, is there a need for any other comparison? I will just give some facts which will put an end to all the comparisons
Mahabharata is roughly 10 times the size of the Iliad and Odyssy taken together, and about 4 times the size of the Ramayana.
18 books, 18 chapters of the Bhagavadgita and the Narayaniya each, corresponding to the 18 days of the battle and the 18 armies.
The English Translation of first 5 books (parvas) has been completed accounting for more than 5000 pages.
And finally…..
With more than 74,000 verses, long prose passages, and some 1.8 million words in total, Mahabharata is one of the longest epic poems in the world.
LOTR is a great work and I truly appreciate it. I accept the fact that it is a wonder creation by J.R.R Tolkein and I am myself a big fan of LOTR. I don’t have any collection of movies but I got a DVD of this trilogy.
However, comparing it to Mahabharata is obviously a joke. Mahabharata has been long known whereas LOTR came into limelight only after the movies.
Some people are now writing Mahabharata in a style in which LOTR has been written. This is certainly not at all required. Surprisingly, somebody has already written Ramayana in that style. It is a collection of 5 books starting from Prince of Ayodhya and ending at King of Ayodhya. The author might have felt that the younger generation should be told about Ramayana in their style. But this is not the correct way. Instead we all should know about our texts and there should be no need to rewrite them in a fancy style.
I would just like to end this blog with one quotation from the beginning of the first parva of Mahabharata:
"What is found here, may be found elsewhere. What is not found here, will not be found elsewhere."

Comparing the Incomparable?!?-Part I

People crack a joke and they know that they are joking because that’s what cracking a joke means. However, sometimes people crack a joke and they think that they are not joking.
Many a times I have encountered the latter situation. But, this time the latter situation became so hilarious that you can’t stop laughing days and nights together.
I was going through some books in a book store when I heard this, “Hey Man, have you read Lord of the Rings? It’s awesome man. Too Good. I have never read a fictional epic like this before. Mahabharata is nothing in front of it”
It was “THE JOKE”. How can one compare Mahabharata with Lord of the Rings? And is Mahabharata a fictional epic?
Then his friend cracked another joke, “Really Yaar. Mahabharata is nothing compared to LOTR. Mahabharata was so boring. Some Pandavas, a bunch of Kauravas, Lord Krishna and some guru’s and saint’s. They fight for a piece of land and then somebody wins… So boring… And just look at LOTR…four species, middle earth, fantasies…cool yaar…I have just seen the movie…….It’s so awesome yaar!”
It was certain that both of them had no knowledge of Mahabharata. They just might have seen some episodes of the T.V serial.
So, proving that Mahabharata is incomparable to LOTR or anything would be foolish as only ignorant people would like to compare the incomparable.
However, I soon realized that this was not considered as a joke for a section of our young society (From age group 16-24. Though many of us in this group know what the truth is.). This is especially not a joke for some of our school going readers who are very ignorant about Mahabharata. The above data reflects that I carried out a full fledged survey. However, there was no survey at all. I realized all this while I was chatting with my friends and with some people in discussion forums.
So, I have to become a foolish person (at least for this blog) as I will be comparing both the texts. Though I would not consider myself ignorant in this case as I have carried out quite a research before this comparison.
Truly saying, I am myself strongly against this comparison as comparing a religious text with a book is so very wrong. This comparison can end on the very point of origin itself. Mahabharata was created by Veda Vyasa who is regarded as the avatar of Vishnu in many Vaishnava traditions. Whereas, LOTR was created by a normal human. So, how the hell they can be compared? I raised this point a number of times. But the response which I got was, “See yaar, we respect Mahabharata. No doubts in it. What we are saying is that LOTR is so lengthy and comprehensive. What you have seen in the movie is just about the third age. There is first and second age also. There are a number of species, scripts, a detailed map, etc….So, its all about organization, depth and magnitude.”
What an ignorant mind!!!Tch, Tch…. They are mesmerized just by a fantasy. What they have overlooked is the role of Karma and Dharma in Mahabharata. But, many of those ignorant minds are not interested in truth or philosophical nature of Mahabharata. They are just looking for a logical comparison.
So, this comparison has become the need of the hour as on one hand our young society is living in such ignorance and on the other hand they call themselves the enlightened one’s of the 21st century.
I would be having an unbiased comparison based on facts and figures.
